Lower School pupils celebrate World Book Day 2018

Lower School pupils celebrated World Book Day 2018 this morning by dressing up as their favourite book character and having their very own Bookfest!
The event featured story telling, guessing the teacher hidden behind a book, reading and pastry eating (of course!). Pupils discussed and decided which literary villains should remain on the ‘Island of Villainy’ and which ones they would prefer never to hear of again.
Mrs Lucy Breag, Librarian said, “The pupils looked resplendent in their literary character costumes and they had a wonderful time. It was an excellent way of engaging young people in literacy and encouraging everyone to talk about their books.”
