Knossington and Somerby Pre-School Exhibition Success!

Knossington and Somerby Pre-School Exhibition held at the Wheelhouse Gallery last Sunday was a great success!

Teacher of Art Mrs Ann Nelson tells us more:-

"Children from Knossington and Somerby Pre-School exhibited their artwork in an effort to raise funds for their School.

So many parents turned up to what they felt was a ‘beautiful’ show. They were all so incredibly proud.

OO Becky Haley (17) opened the show and she exhibited a selection of her childhood work, where she made connections between the early Mark-Making in painting and where these wonderful little artists may themselves take their marks as they go on to develop their creative talents.

Becky spoke about the importance of talents being nurtured and that she was lucky to have family and teachers at primary and at Oakham School to encourage and support her creative talent.

Knossington and Somerby have certainly been working hard to stimulate the creativity of these 32 little artists. It definitely was the ‘happy exhibition’ as described by Becky and it was great to hear that some of the children were inspired to paint more pieces upon returning home after the event.”
