On Friday 26 April, members of staff were invited to the Smallbone Library for a special preview of artwork created by the Art Department staff. The exhibition was an impressive demonstration of different types of artistic creativity, and included a range of works from paintings to reworked metal sculptures.
Director of Art, Mrs Elinor Brass, tells us more:
“All of the Art staff are practising artists, and so the exhibition is a lovely contrast of approaches, ideas and techniques. Alongside showcasing their talents, this exhibition allows the artists to invite other members of staff into a discussion about their work. As the Smallbone Library is located in the heart of the School, it is also a perfect opportunity to show our students some recent work by their teachers - which will hopefully provoke further interesting conversations about art-making in the classroom.”
The Staff Art Exhibition runs until Monday 13 May and is open to all. For upcoming exhibitions, view the latest edition of the Arts Calendar.
