GCSE geographers investigate the impacts of tourism

GCSE geographers have been investigating the impact of tourism with groups travelling to the town of Stratford-upon-Avon and the city of Cambridge to carry out their research.

Miss Hannah Campion, Teacher of Geography, who accompanied the group to Stratford-upon-Avon, tells us more about their trip:-

“The pupils explored Shakespeare’s home town, collecting primary data for their GCSE coursework. They also conducted questionnaires with members of the public and shopkeepers. Many of them were nervous at first but they soon got stuck into the task. As the clouds parted and rain showers cleared, the pupils all got into their stride to complete a variety of data collection techniques and a great day was had by all.

The valuable data that they collected will now be analysed in full back in the classroom.”
