Some of Oakham’s Hockey players were fortunate to be coached by leading GB Hockey coaches this weekend at GB Hockey’s inaugural coaching conference held at Loughborough University.
The leading coaches from across the Home Nations gathered together to share best practice - and 15 of Oakham’s Hockey players benefited from being under their tutelage.
They were fortunate to take part in sessions with Karen Brown, Assistant Coach from Team GB, who helped lead the women’s Olympic team (including Oakham’s very own Crista Cullen) to victory in Rio, along with David Ralph, Assistant Coach of the men’s GB Team.
“This was an outstanding opportunity for our players,” says Director of Hockey, James Bateman who, as a GB Hockey coach himself, was also in attendance at the conference. “They certainly enjoyed both the experience and the challenge of being coached by these leading professionals in their field.”
