French Upper School Trip to see Tartuffe

Yesterday evening, A-level French students had the opportunity to see a brilliant adaptation of Molière’s famous theatrical comedy ‘Tartuffe’ in Stamford.

Molière’s plays are a very popular choice of study in the Upper School and ‘Tartuffe’ is a set text for A-level. This trip was therefore both educational and fun. Moreover, to the students’ surprise, Teacher of French, Mr West-Sadler was playing one of the main characters Tartuffe, a role he acted with much zest and enthusiasm!

Sixth Former Tom said, “The play was fantastic and Oakham’s very own Mr West-Sadler featured as the antagonist in this funny and excellently crafted play. Originally a French play, this English adaptation was both amusing and well written. We are now looking forward to the prospect of studying Molière for our final year.”
