Form 5 student George selected to shoot for Wales

Congratulations to Form 5 pupil George who has been selected to shoot for Wales in the British Schools Small Bore Shooting Association (BSSRA) International competition.

Mr Iain Reeves, Master in Charge of Shooting, tells us more:-

“Every year the competition is between teams from England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland and the Channel Islands.  Competition for places on the teams is hard and only the very best gain a place.  This year George was selected to shoot for Wales “B” in the postal competition and has scored an estimated 190 (ex 200,). We will have to wait for the official scores to come back from the event organisers later in the term for confirmation.

Although George is familiar with using shot guns, the set of skills required for small bore target rifle shooting is very different and we are very proud of his achievements.”
