Form 2 History visit to Burghley House
On Friday 20 September, all of Form 2 went to Burghley House to find out more about Tudor life and portraiture.
Mr Robert Evans, Teacher of History tells us more:-
"Glorious sunny weather provided a stunning backdrop to see the house at its best. Pupils were divided into groups and attended workshops on Tudor food, portraits, architecture and were given a tour of the house.
The staff at Burghley House commented on how enthusiastic the students were, as well as their impeccable behaviour.
Having analysed Tudor portraits in class, this was a great opportunity for students to see some priceless Tudor portraits up close and get a real sense of how one of Elizabeth’s key advisers lived.
Pupils will now embark on a prep activity to consolidate their learning from the day."
