As part of the Lower School’s induction programme, Form 1 spent two wonderful days camping in the countryside near Harringworth, developing their learning skills outside the classroom.
Blessed with glorious weather during the day and a clear night sky, the children faced a series of challenging activities including shelter and fire building (with the added bonus of cooking marshmallows), canoeing, initiative tests and riddle solving. They also enjoyed archery, tree climbing, setting up/striking tents and making their own meal.
The tasks given to the pupils are linked closely to the ten MYP Learning Attributes and also gave them a chance to bond and develop closer relationships with each other.
Head of Lower School, Adrian Morris, said ‘I am really proud of the way the boys and girls rose to the challenges and made the most of this exceptional learning opportunity; the foundations laid through this camp are strong for the rest of the academic year!’ To view the photogallery click here
