Footballers selected for the ISFA Girls U15 Festival

Congratulations to Middle School students and talented footballers Emma W, Emma G and Phoebe B for being selected to represent the Midlands region at the inaugural Independent Schools Football Association (ISFA) Girls U15 Regional Representative Festival.

This event will be the start of the selection process for next season’s national representative teams and will take place at Bisham Abbey National Sports Centre on Sunday 17 June, with players across the country taking part.

The girls have recently played in Oakham’s Midlands League fixture against Uppingham helping to secure the team with the League title.

Coach Rob Johnson said, “The girls deserve their place in the team as they have great potential and have shown excellent teamwork and technique. The event will be a fantastic experience for them.”

Girls’ football is a fast-developing sport at Oakham played in the Winter and Spring Terms by girls in Forms 5–7. The 1st XI are a highly successful team, who have recently been crowned the ISFA Midlands Leagues Champions and are ranked number one in the country in the Schools Sports.com Performance League.
