Congressman LanceCongressman welcomes students to Washington
5 November 2015

Whilst on their trip to the US, Upper School Social Sciences students had the rare opportunity to meet with a member of the House of Representatives, who gave them a fascinating insight into political life in Washington DC.

Congressman Leonard Lance, a Republican representative in the House of Representatives, met with students before their tour of the US Capitol building. Congressman Lance, who represents the New Jersey 7th District and focuses much of his time of healthcare and environmental issues, took time out of his busy schedule to welcome the students to Washington. He spoke about his role in the House and also discussed America’s position globally, particularly relevant due to the mix of internationalities on the trip – German Italian, Bulgarian and Russian. His staff then gave the group personal tours of the US Capitol building, the home of US government.
