The CAS Philippines Project group members in Form 6 organised a barbecue for Middle School pupils in order to raise awareness of the scheme and to have some fun socialising with them.
The IB CAS Project is an activity offered to Upper School students, which aims to fundraise for a primary school in the Philippines. It is an initiative of the Education First Foundation, to which Oakham School donates money to build a partner school and provide it with essential facilities. This year, students have focused their fundraising on the construction of a school library to increase the accessibility for children to books and all learning material.
The team has organised a variety of fund raising events for this project from selling hot chocolate and Valentine roses to putting out green Philippine project donation jars in all the houses etc.
Teacher of French and supervisor of this activity, Mrs Jennifer Hollering said, “ The barbeque was extremely well organised and the team should all be congratulated for their efforts, enthusiasm and preparation. They gained valuable experience
