OO Rob Cook- debut for Gloucester Rugby
27 September 2012
Old Oakhamian Rob Cook made his debut for Gloucester Rugby on Saturday (22nd September 2012) in their match against London Wasps. winning 29-22. During his two years at Oakham, Cook was a fantastic all round sportsman; captain of the rugby, cricket and football 1st teams, never losing a match. He scored the first try when Oakham rugby won the Daily Mail Cup at Twickenham in 2002.
The Full back moved from the Cornish Pirates this summer. During his time with the Pirates he had three successful seasons scoring a total of 26 tries, passing a total of one thousand points for the Pirates, enabling Cook to be named in the Championship dream team.
Gloucester ran out 29-22 winners to turn around some recent poor home form. Rob joins Alex Goode (Saracens) Matt Smith, Matt Cornwell and Tom Croft (Leicester) Charlie Beech (Bath) and Charlie Walker (Harlequins) as Old Oakhamians playing in the premiership.
