 | Oakham cricketers success 23rd April 2009 As the county cricket season gets underway, five Old Oakhamians are making appearances for their respective counties in matches this week. Most notably are Matt Boyce, Josh Cobb and Alex Wyatt who played in Leicestershire’s match against the touring West Indies. Wyatt took three wickets including that of Ramnaresh Sarwan, the batsman who tormented England during the winter. Boyce and Cobb followed this up with 50s in the Leics second innings. Stuart Broad, making one of his few appearances for his county, Nottinghamshire, scored 60 and then took the first four wickets in their match against Worcestershire and Ian Saxelby made 10 runs and took a wicket in Gloucestershire’s encounter with Essex. |
