Old Oakhamian University Visit,
Exeat Autumn Term 2012
31 October 2012
During Exeat, Old Oakhamian undergraduates studying at Leeds and Leeds Metropolitan Universities met together to discuss their courses and university experience with Dr Nicoll. The universities in Leeds are popular academic destinations for Oakhamians and the Careers Department finds it useful to find out first-hand how students are finding their education post school, especially following the rise in university tuition fees. The students were generally very happy with the teaching they were receiving, and with the student environment in general. Leeds boasts a number of fine buildings, and the university has just opened the ‘Central Village’ accommodation area in the middle of the City which is already proving popular with students. Oakhamians were pleased to hear the latest news from Oakham; these are the former pupils who got in touch: Ellie McRoberts (2012, Law); Emily Rowbotham (2012, History); Chloe Elphick (2012, Theatre & Performance); Jenny Boyd (2012, Spanish); Henry Penny (2012, Business Economics); Alexander MacMillian (2011, Medicine); Rachel Seese (2011, Medicine); Lucy Williams (2011, Performance Management); Sarah Boon (2010, Mind & Knowledge); Faith Robinson (2010, History of Art). We wish all our ex pupils good luck in their endeavours and assure them they always welcome to make an appointment to pop back to school.
The next University Visit will be during the Spring Term Exeat for the universities in Durham and Newcastle.
