Oakham is a boarding and day school for boys and girls aged 10 to 18. It is one of the UK's top IB schools and sixth formers can choose either the IB or A Levels
Oakham is an exceptional place to send your son or daughter. We are not just talking about outstanding academic achievements, sporting prowess, or our involvement in an unrivalled range of social, cultural and community activities. The really remarkable story about Oakham is our pupils.
We believe in engaging our pupils in the broadest of educations where academic study takes the lead but sport, music, the arts, the community and a range of other activities follow closely behind. We believe every pupil should have the opportunity to learn where their strengths and passions lie and be equipped to explore the opportunities ahead of them.
This is why, when you come to Oakham - and we hope you will - you will find warm, approachable but confident and determined young people. These young people have reaped the benefits not only of a high quality formal education but also of a wider social enlightenment.

We have all the facilities, opportunities and teaching excellence you would expect of a school of 1,000 pupils, but nobody is overwhelmed. All formative activities are undertaken in small groups where each individual has a chance to make an impression. With an equal ratio of day pupils to boarders and of girls to boys, all pupils are equally highly valued. It is our ambition that at Oakham School every single pupil realises their full potential and leaves the School ready to make their impression on the world.
