The Wacky Triathlon8-11 October 2010A fundraising event in aid of Ecole Nomad, Morocco
The Monday of the Service Weekend, nine students (including ourselves) and Dr. Summers and Mr. Sarna participated in raising money for a nomadic school in Morocco. All the money raised will go towards funding the school and keeping it running for the next year. A portion of the necessary funding has been raised by the Wacky Triathlon, which took place around the Rutland Water Peninsula.
The Triathlon consisted of three sections; three-legged, walking blindfolded (with a navigator!) and most challenging – skipping. We began our five-mile trek across rocky pathways, steep slopes and hoards of sheep with the “easier option” of three-legged. Racing ahead, Ollie Sparrow and Shiv Shah took the lead, closely followed by Tom Stephenson linked with Sam Johnston and ourselves on their tails. Bringing up the rear were our three lovely ladies – Victoria Schloßer, Natalia Kubesch and Louisa Müller-Miny.
Overall, the day turned out wonderful, we raised over £400 and we had a great time doing so.
