Oxbridge offers for ten pupils 2 February 2010 Ten Oakhamians are celebrating after securing offers to study at two of the world’s most famous universities.
The pupils have been offered places to study subjects ranging from Medicine to Middle Eastern Studies at either Oxford or Cambridge University. Headmaster Nigel Lashbrook says the whole school is proud of them “I am delighted by the success of this year’s Oxbridge candidates – their conditional offers to study at Oxford or Cambridge are a testimony to not only their undoubted ability but also their total commitment and sheer enthusiasm for their chosen subjects. All of us at Oakham are incredibly proud of their achievements.” Eight Oakham students have offers from Cambridge University. They are Jessica Anand, Middle Eastern Studies with German; Max Bacon, Medicine; Natasha Branch, Natural Sciences; Matthew Counsell, Economics; Sam Ma, Mathematics; Simon Pratt and Nikita Sellers, Geography; Ed Tombs, Engineering. Two have offers from Oxford. They are Tom Adlam, reading Geography and Claire Baillie, studying Classics.
